MONTEREY

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2009 MONTERREY
Arrived in the early evening. Stayed at the El Castle Motel. Near the fairgrounds. Heavy traffic. We were desperately hungry. Checked in...and then went looking for a place to eat. Got lost. Went back to motel area and there across the street was Denny's. Like I said we were hungry.

Monterrey was not on our schedule to stop and visit. It became a stop-over on the way to San Fran. We checked out in the A.M. and decided to see what the waterfront was like. They do have good number of sites to see. We only stopped to visit Cannery Row. Cannery Row is along the waterfront where once fish products were packaged. Today the area has been converted to a tourist attraction with shops--food--etc.

We left Monterrey after lunch and headed for San Fran.....no pictures......at least I can't find them.....HELP! WHERE DID THEY GO???????????

We leave the Central Coast area of Ca...and head towards the northern coast area......beginning with San Fran.

Our short time in the Central Coast area whetted my appetite to want to come back. If only I was 30 years younger. This area has everything: perfect weather; beauty; surfing; sailing; swimming; kayaking; pick-nicking; horseback riding; hiking; fishing;camping; biking.....ONLY THE NEXT TIME I WOULD LIKE TO COME AS A CAMPER.....I really believe that camping or RV's is the best way.

Checked in to the Broadway Manor in San Fran for two nights. See you tomorrow.
