Did I tell you that when we left Mesa Verdes and headed for Grand Canyon we reached a point where four states met; Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. It is 9:00 AM., And we are on our way to Riverside, Cal. to visit our good friends Leroy & Lu Pedersen. I met Leroy when we were still kids in Chicago. We were both involved in banding(brass band). Later he field trained at The Salvation Army Midwest Corps where I attended and by the way where I met Wilma(my wife) We were stationed in the same Iowa Division. Pete (as I call him) and Lu are among the closest and dearest friends. We have maintained this friendship for over 60 years now. We deeply appreciate their friendship.
So good bye Grand Canyon and thanks for such an inspirational time and Williams AZ., for a good night sleep.

As we traveled west along HWY 40 we came to I noted that Hoover Dam was just 75 miles out of our way. So we turned right on HWY 93 and headed for Hoover Dam. We toured the power plant and listened to the engineering that was involved in constructing this massive concrete dam. One cannot look at Hoover Dam and not marvel at the intellect with which God has endowed man.The following photos will give you some idea as to the breath and scope of The Hoover Dam. By the way the dam was constructed under the leadership of Herbert Hoover then Sec. of Commerce.

We left Hoover Dam with a deep sense of appreciation for the engineering gifts that men in our nation have. Pray that they you those gifts wisely. Arrive at Pet's house around 8:30 pm. Thursday night. The next two 1/2 days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday AM) were days of recounting experiences of the past and enjoying the conversation of the present. They were days of relaxation.

Tomorrow I will write about our day with 'John & Ramona.
