I am having difficulty uploading photos and placing them where I want. We were up early and drove over to the visitors center of The Hearst Castle. First I will show you the photos of the Castle. Then I will try to add some information. However, I believe that the photos will speak for themselves. I will say this much, the Castle was built by William Randolph Hearst. First the photos:as built by William Randolph Hearst. First the photos

The estate's main house, Casa Grande, and three guest houses are of Mediterranean Revival style, while the towers of Casa Grande were inspired by a Spanish cathedral. The architectural style with the surrounding land, and Hearst's European and Mediterranean art collection, makes the Hearst Castle a palace in every sense of the word.

Hearst Castle's guest list included the stars of the 1920's and 1930' and political leaders from all over the world.

The Castle was built in 1919. The architect was Julia Morgan. There is so much to tell you about this Castle it would take more pages than you would want to read. If this whets your appetite to learn more, google Hearst Castle.

We left the Castle around 2:pm and headed for Monterrey where we planned to stay.
